[02:12:27] [[~TParis/ec]] ! 10https://wiki.toolserver.org/w/index.php?diff=8026&oldid=8025&rcid=21964 * Tparis * (-267) (Thanks for the heads up) [03:42:29] [[Special:Log/newusers]] create 10 * Troiamu1 * (New user account) [20:49:23] when I try to create an account in jira i get the error "A system error occurred while creating your user account." [21:02:24] danilo: JIRA is broken, amette is working on it. [21:06:51] ok, thanks [21:22:09] scfc_de: any idea on how can he get an account? or must whait for jira to be fixed? [21:25:45] Alchimista: I don't know, but I don't think there's an easy solution. danilo, what do you need JIRA for? [21:26:07] to create an account [21:26:25] yes [21:27:33] No, I mean do you need to report a bug, or ...? [21:28:08] to cretate web tool and run a bot [21:28:17] scfc_de: he is tryng to create a ts account, so he needs to have a jira account to fill the request :P [21:29:33] i'm trying to make it in tool labs but ts looks easier [21:29:53] Ah! "get an account" :-) [21:31:18] danilo: I would write a mail to ts-admins@toolserver.org (or watch for amette/DaBPunkt/nosy on this channel). [21:31:26] Why do you think TS looks easier? [21:33:38] i read the TS and labs documentations, and Labs look too complex to me, i'm not a proffesional programer [21:34:15] sorry my bad english [21:36:19] Well, accounts on Labs are free of charge, so it doesn't hurt just to try it :-). The process on Labs isn't that complicated: Create an account, create a tool, create some scripts/PHP/Perl/whatever, and be happy :-). [21:38:24] scfc_de: i also think that ts is far more user friendly, mostly for those who aren't sys admins experts. labs still has some work to do there [21:41:29] Alchimista: What's more user-friendly at TS? [21:49:27] scfc_de: visual ftp programs like filezilla aren't able to be used on labs, to use the grid engine with py scripts we must add sys.path because seems like the GE doesn't change the working directory, i still haven't understood the filesystem organization, because there's a lack of doc [21:50:24] i haven't been able to sucessfully run a script with jsub, there's allways something wrong [21:56:05] Alchimista: You're right that after using an FTP program, you need to "take /data/project/$TOOL/public_html" to set the correct owner to enable web access. [21:57:15] Regarding working directory, the GE changes it with the option "-cwd" ("jsub -cwd" or "qsub -cwd"). But this is the *same* as on Toolserver. [22:01:17] i've tryed and it didn't worked, there is also a threat where it's sugested to use sys.path on py scripts [22:05:37] Alchimista: What's the command you use on Toolserver? [22:06:05] -wd, on cronie [22:10:34] That works with jsub (and qsub) on Tools as well. [22:14:58] i must try again then, i've tryed 3 or 4 weeks ago and wasn't working, even on labs channel, the sys.path solution was appinted has the best one [22:21:51] Alchimista: The sys.path solution is the least surprising :-), because you can hardcode directories there.
