[20:39:26] StormyWaves: Hey there! How are you? [20:41:10] Drewmutt, I'm good. How are you? [20:45:18] Not too shabby finally cooling down. [20:45:46] Drewmutt, good to hear! Any Friday plans? :) [20:57:16] If everything goes well, I'll be doing nothing :) [21:04:46] Ah, Drewmutt, I remembered I had a curious question from a days ago. So, as you said "I'm on the liberal side of paid editing", but what exactly are your standards of separating press releases and reworded press releases? [21:20:52] Hmm.. it's a good question.. [21:21:22] I suppose it depends on whom it was rewritten by, and if the content is neutral. [21:24:02] How would you separate the neutral and non-neutral exactly though? [21:24:42] For example, what a company announces, and if it was clear the words were lifted from a press release but simply added with quotes? [21:25:21] Drewmutt ^ In case you miss it :P [21:26:55] I mean, for instance, you could have a press release saying We are the best ever! We made $2m dollars this year! If an independent party translates that as "X claims they made $2m this year." [21:27:18] A specific example might help :) [21:28:02] Ha :D https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Farmdrop is the article I've nominated; as you can imagine, I'm intent on its deletion, regardless of whatever the publisher name :P [21:28:02] [WIKIPEDIA] Farmdrop | "Farmdrop is an online food delivery company that distributes foods to consumers that is sourced from local farmers and fishermen. The company provides farm-to-table foods and fresh fish for consumers in the London, Bristol and Bath areas. It was founded by Ben Pugh in 2012 and is based in London, England..." [21:28:51] Because, of course, one of the criteria of WP:Deletion policy is that if an article cannot be improved, it couldn't possibly be repaired anymore if past attempts haven't succeed. [21:29:27] As I noted at the history and linked them, the article has seen bad days than good days and that's even considering the good-faith attempts by myself and Steve Quinn to remove the promotion. [21:30:44] So, in this example, I hope you're not suggesting the company must be notable despite each article has a clear influence by the company founder, such as what their goals are and what they projected.
