(based on last year, idk if there changes I missed) last year the flights I wanted and ended up switching to were cheaper than what Amex originally booked. Turkish Air said they send a refund to a card but idk if that went to Amex or WMF or into the void.

Speaking as someone who has held wiki events in NYC and SF, I can definitely see how this could have been a problem. When we have events in Indianapolis, people on scholarship show up at the event at a very high percentage.
