I have two talk page posts made on mobile that are in a very strange place on my talk page and I don't know how to fix it. [16:29:49] what talk page is this? [16:30:02] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Risker [16:30:23] the posts appear on the top far right [16:30:38] wow [16:31:44] * Risker is reassured that someone else thinks it's weird [16:32:06] Risker, so I'm not convinced this is the fault of the mobile software [16:32:18] but a newline in the wrong place [16:32:27] causing mediawiki table syntax to get used [16:32:31] I made https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:Risker&diff=869824012&oldid=869775980&diffmode=source [16:32:35] uh oh [16:32:54] forgot I was editing an old rev, one sec [16:33:30] oh wow, was it just the ! as the first character of a line causing a table header to happen? [16:33:31] okay, take two: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:Risker&diff=869824266&oldid=869775980&diffmode=source [16:33:35] yes [16:33:55] that's valid without a table start sequence? [16:34:05] I think the fact they did this over mobile was a coincidence [16:34:49] hm [16:35:05] Thanks, Krenair. I wasn't sure if it was just weird formatting or if it was something to do with the mobile software. Either way I needed help to fix, I didn't know that the ! would do that [16:35:21] maybe not on it's own [16:37:20] It's possible that it wasn't the mobile interface but the fact that most phone screens are small and often have default software behaviours of their own that could have resulted in the ! being on its own line. A typo, if you will. [16:39:21] Thanks again, Krenair. Appreciate the assistance. [16:39:24] Something else is going on here [16:39:31] I can't reproduce this formatting doing that on its own on the sandbox [16:40:29] maybe you have an unclosed table somewhere [16:40:44] yeah [16:40:54] I count 4 '{|' and 3 '|}' on that page [16:42:08] ahhhhh...good excuse for me to reformat that page. I'll work on it today. [16:42:54] fixed [16:42:55] I think quiddity just got it [16:46:43] thanks, quiddity! [16:47:01] * quiddity denies everything.
