[10:36:21] hello. how can I learn which $wgSVGConverter does Wikimedia (esp. Commons) use? [10:40:18] qq[IrcCity]: it's rsvg [10:40:30] thanks. [10:40:38] happy New Year! [10:41:04] qq[IrcCity]: you can see it defined in https://noc.wikimedia.org/conf/highlight.php?file=CommonSettings.php [10:41:13] to you too! :) [10:41:41] (…and https://noc.wikimedia.org/conf/highlight.php?file=InitialiseSettings.php) [10:42:39] yes, I remember flamewars on «rsvg bugs» when I neglected to inquiry what does the word mean. [10:43:35] more exactly, librsvg bugs. [13:06:30] a related question: who is/are person(s) in charge for running rsvg on the servers? [13:09:38] I mean: not (lib)rsvg development, but just sysadmin’s tasks. there is a problem, but it’s hard to narrow it down to certain software element without knowledge about environment in which runs the SVG converter. [13:11:12] I would imagine a core function like that would be the responsibility of the WMF's own staff, but I may be wrong, but in any case asking a WMF staff member would be the easiest way to find out. [13:12:04] I presumed there are some members nearby. [13:12:50] its christmas/new year so many of the normal people are likely busy... [13:12:58] :D [13:14:48] it’s far from urgent, anyway, just a minor nuissance. nothing cared about the crap for three years. [13:16:32] ya, only the things no one has bother about for many years are always the things that break in a spectacular crapup :P [13:17:14] thankfully converting SVG's is not a critical thing likely to ever break [13:18:04] my case is, likely, due to a misconfigured or deficient font setup that broke only rare cases of text rendering. [13:19:57] qq[IrcCity]: this entire week is a holiday for all US-based WMF staff [13:20:56] ack, maybe I’ll try a mailing list then. [13:21:31] qq[IrcCity]: the Operations team is responsible for it, but not any specific person i think [13:22:46] qq[IrcCity]: you might want to file a task on Phabricator. or see if your problem is already found here: https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/project/view/211/
