[00:37:03] Grr, I hate when messages take over 5 min to pop up in mailman archives (or even to be distributed??) https://lists.wikimedia.org/pipermail/wiktionary-l/ [11:55:15] It seems I'm unable to post to wiktionary-l. O_o https://lists.wikimedia.org/pipermail/wiktionary-l/ [11:55:29] Maybe some excessively restrictive antispam score setting? [14:32:07] Is there's a way to find out when an account was created? If yes, how? [14:52:19] lol [14:52:23] If he comes back... [14:52:29] user_registration field, if populated [15:19:00] Is there a list of IPs of WMF servers in Europe? https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/wiki/IP_addresses shows a range, but I don't know which ones are publicly accessible. [15:20:49] Zhaofeng_Li: All of the public services are just caching layers [15:20:59] thus you access them via the normal domains [15:21:07] I don't see what you're looking for [15:21:21] hoo: I just want to find a server that's accessible from China. [15:22:52] try text-lb.esams.wikimedia.org [15:25:43] hoo: Got 91.198.174.192, and it's working! [15:25:56] Yeah, that's the IP [15:26:53] FYI, another IP that's still working is 208.80.154.224. [15:27:06] * Zhaofeng_Li doesn't know how long it will last :/ [15:29:49] hoo: I'll go looking for more. Thanks! [15:46:29] Zhaofeng_Li: the 4x datacenter names are eqiad, ulsfo, codfw, esams, and the primary wiki services would be accessible at the IP addresses for the 4 hostnames you can make from that as: text-lb..wikimedia.org [15:46:43] just keep in mind that that's all considered internal detail subject to change [15:47:08] the text-lb hostnames or the IPs they resolve to aren't public contracts. All that's gauranteed is that whatever IP you get for e.g. en.wikipedia.org works at that time. [15:47:45] you could also resolve those names as IPv6 and see if things are different for v6 than v4 [15:48:44] Zhaofeng_Li: keep in mind those IPs are just for the wikis though (as in XX.wikipedia.org, and ditto for projects like wikibooks, wikiquote, etc). [15:49:08] upload.wikimedia.org is separate, and uses a similar scheme, but "upload-lb" instead of "text-lb" [15:49:16] (for all the common embedded images) [18:14:44] heh standards xkcd https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T116786#1803900 [21:19:05] pretty colours https://ganglia.wikimedia.org/latest/?c=Miscellaneous%20eqiad&h=neon.wikimedia.org&m=cpu_report&r=hour&s=by%20name&hc=4&mc=2 [21:19:46] it's called neon :) [21:20:11] yeah the ganglia disco [22:50:08] ur1.ca seems down [22:50:14] linked from the topic here [22:54:41] Nemo_bis: ^
