[19:43:03] Hello all, I noticed that within the past hour or two, some scripts or pages within the MediaWiki namespace are not loading, example: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MediaWiki:Gadget-popups.js [19:43:09] this is on enwiki, I have not tried other wikis [19:43:36] There is no error within the script itself, but evidently the server [19:44:33] 503 error [19:45:03] i'll check [19:45:05] MusikAnimal: ^ [19:45:45] Thank you! I quickly checked some other scripts and they are returning a 200 as expected. Not sure why this one is not [19:47:12] MaxSem: there are a bunch of: [19:47:12] 2014-12-08 19:43:56 mw1181 commonswiki: [d0a9997b] /wiki/MediaWiki:Gadget-Cat-a-lot.js?action=raw&ctype=text%2Fjavascript HttpError from line 942 of /srv/mediawiki/php-1.25wmf10/includes/WebRequest.php: Invalid file extension found in the path info or query string. [19:47:15] in the exception logs [19:48:11] ori, has to be caused by user-generated (site/user/gadget) scripts [19:48:32] or not? [19:48:34] eh [19:48:53] did someone accidentally importScript()? [19:50:22] ahh Twinkle isn't working either [19:52:23] FYI, MediaViewer and the VisualEditor are also not working [19:52:41] MusikAnimal: Yeah, all JS that uses user options is broken. [19:52:48] ori, I see a 503 at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MediaWiki:Gadget-popups.js [19:52:56] mw.loader.getState('user.defaults') [19:52:57] "missing" [19:53:16] same thing timo just fixed for wmf11 [19:53:19] doing the same for 10 [19:53:22] Thanks ori. [19:54:12] James_F: wait, where did you see that? [19:54:20] ori: MediaWiki.org right now. [19:54:32] ori: Roan and I were trying to work out why all JS was broken. [19:55:04] ori: It works OK if I dump browser cache in wmf11 though. [19:55:16] yeah, it was a scap race condition [19:55:32] see https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T47877#831426 [19:55:57] Yeah, we really need scap to 'know' the right order to push new files and changes out in. [19:56:11] Or, better, to push snapshots rather than files. [19:56:42] Weird, it's still broken in wmf11 for me in incognito and I don't understand why [19:57:00] I see the startup module registering user.defaults [19:57:37] Ooh I see [19:57:46] The request for the user.defaults module is cached, and that one reports it as missing [19:58:14] touch all the core resources and sync? [19:58:26] RoanKattouw: cached in browser cache or localStorage? [19:58:33] Browser cache [19:58:35] Actually no [19:58:37] Varnish [19:58:48] https://bits.wikimedia.org/www.mediawiki.org/load.php?debug=false&lang=en&modules=ext.uls.interface%2Cpreferences%2Cwebfonts%7Cext.visualEditor.viewPageTarget.init%7Cmediawiki.user%7Cmmv.head%7Cuser.defaults&skin=vector&version=20141208T185727Z&* [19:58:49] doing that now [19:59:00] MaxSem: no, wait [19:59:29] hm? [19:59:34] There's a better trick [19:59:48] Find the memcached entry for the user.defaults hash+timestamp and delete it [19:59:51] yep [19:59:55] that's what i'm doing :) [20:00:46] better as in "harder and more error prone"? :P [20:27:40] ori: Done yet? [20:27:48] VE isn't working for me on mw.org [20:27:52] i thought i cleared it [20:28:03] https://bits.wikimedia.org/www.mediawiki.org/load.php?debug=false&lang=en&modules=ext.uls.interface%2Cpreferences%2Cwebfonts%7Cext.visualEditor.viewPageTarget.init%7Cmediawiki.user%7Cmmv.head%7Cuser.defaults&skin=vector&version=20141208T185727Z&* loads [20:28:27] oh, still missing [20:28:28] wtf [20:30:33] WTF it works the second time but not the first time [20:30:35] Every time [20:32:18] Oh because it's a different set of modules [20:32:22] ori: Look at the timestamp in that URL though [20:32:28] That's almost 2h old [20:34:25] RoanKattouw: try again? [20:34:38] tho could be a 5-min thing now [20:42:44] Yup works now [20:47:13] ori, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MediaWiki:Gadget-popups.js still crashes [20:47:29] yes, i have no idea why [21:34:46] hey guys, I see all the scripts and gadgets are working again! thank you! But just curious, the source for Gadget-popups.js is still returning a 503: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MediaWiki:Gadget-popups.js [21:34:51] how'd you get it work, then? [23:17:21] yes its not possible to edit 'login.wikiemdia.org' but should it be made possibly to add ur signature there which can be used globally on very wiki instead of manually adding it in preference in every wiki u visit?
