[03:49:31] Does anyone happen to know what the HHVM tag is for? https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/#/c/158137/2/i18n/qqq.json [03:49:43] I managed to trigger it by adding some math to a sandbox page. [03:49:49] https://fr.wikisource.org/wiki/Wikisource:Bac_%C3%A0_sable [03:49:56] Math that happened to not… render as it should. [03:50:09] It works on other Wikimedia wikis, though; just not there. I am puzzled. [03:51:02] Rastus_Vernon: did you enable the betafeature named "HHVM"? https://lists.wikimedia.org/pipermail/wikimedia-l/2014-September/074659.html [03:51:30] Ah, it's a beta feature? Isn't it some sort of PHP VM? [03:51:38] I have all beta features enabled. That might explain it. [03:51:39] http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/HHVM [03:52:04] yeah, that would do it. Could you file a bug under the math extension saying it didn't render properly under HHVM? [03:52:17] I don't know if it has anything to do with HHVM. [03:52:24] But I do know it works on other wikis. [03:52:49] hm. [03:53:15] so I null-edited the page using PHP5, and it now partially renders [03:53:17] I disabled HHVM, and it did actually render when I reloaded the page, after purging. [03:53:27] Oh, maybe it wasn't me disabling HHVM, then. [03:53:34] ori: ^ [03:53:39] well, maybe both of us :P [03:53:57] Right, null editing is more or less the same as purging. [03:54:11] Although I must mention I had previewed it many times before submitting the change, always having the same issue. [03:54:56] well, the preview would be under HHVM too [03:55:06] Good point. [03:55:27] could you file a bug for this? or would you like me to? [03:55:52] I re-enabled HHVM and clicked the edit button. Then, I previewed the page. The two last equations render, the first tells me texvc is not there. [03:56:08] :\ [03:56:20] The two last also render on the page itself, with HHVM or without (after your null edit and my purging without HHVM enabled), and the first doesn't, but the first doesn't because of another error. [03:56:46] I think I'm too confused to file the bug… [03:56:50] heh [03:57:00] I'll file a generic "something looks to be wrong" [03:57:59] Oooh, it does seem HHVM has something to do with it after all. [03:58:23] I re-previewed many times with HHVM enabled, then disabled it, went back to the edit page and previewed again some times, and the texvc error wasn't there (but the previous one was). [03:59:53] I did a null edit on the page with HHVM enabled, and the lexing error (the one that isn't a problem because it's only there because my LaTeX is actually invalid) was replaced by the texvc missing error (which isn't correct because texvc is actually there or at least it works without HHVM). [04:00:04] So it seems the texvc missing error does come from HHVM. [04:05:32] has either of you filed a bug for this? [04:06:34] not yet, I have to afk right now so I'll do it when I get back if you want me to [04:12:00] np, thanks for doing bug triage [22:03:09] The "Eureka" icon shown in personal toolbar for new users is quite weird.
