[08:43:38] IMHO we should just kill that wikimedia.org -> wikimediafoundation.org redirect. [08:44:23] Then Elsie would be forced to stop his evil "shorturls" to foundationwiki. [08:46:12] anyone able to enlighten me to why from early mid September that (some|many) the Special: maintenance tasks have not run? [08:48:14] measure used enWP and enWS [08:53:38] sDrewth: I added you to https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=53227 [08:53:57] k, thx [08:54:33] it's probably some stupid error in the crontabs like wrong user running the script or wrong path, but nobody had time to check it yet :) [08:55:08] it occurred at about the time of a rollout, so wondered whether it was purposeful or accidental [08:55:19] couldn't see anything relevant on the roadmap for the rollout [08:57:08] hmm, our don't go that far bacl [08:57:10] ours [09:29:24] what rollout [09:29:46] of the Ryan_Lane clones [09:42:23] 1.22wmf16 [12:38:41] legoktm: congrats for being mentioned in http://blog.archive.org/2013/10/25/fixing-broken-links/ :) [12:39:51] o hi Nemo_bis [12:40:27] Nemo_bis: i want you to test something. https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/#/c/90729/ / http://users.v-lo.krakow.pl/~matmarex/testwiki/index.php?title=Main_Page&action=history etc [12:41:30] Nemo_bis: try clicking the rollback links [13:04:02] MatmaRex: done, it says reverted edits, shows diff with no difference, and there's nothing in history [13:04:36] Nemo_bis: …do you have javascript off? [13:05:19] because it should show sexy inline confirmation prompt [13:05:22] ah, you should have said [13:05:58] (rollbacking itself might not work because i enabled it for IPs, which is not normal, disregard that please or register) [13:06:47] I saw the prompt, is this a new stress-spreading tool to be used in logoration warfare against the enemy's wikis? [13:09:24] uhhh what? [13:09:35] it's supposed to reduce missclicks, no more, no less :P [13:09:57] (and to replace the annoying huge popup on "thanks" links, too) [13:11:02] I don't understand if it's a sarcastic commit [13:11:23] absolutely nobody might ever want rollback to require two clicks, the definition of rollback is that it requires one click; it's a contradiction [13:11:39] and I'm not going to discuss this, I'll let the mob lynch you :P [13:12:13] heh [13:12:17] no, it's completely serious [13:12:31] i've accidentally rollbacked way too many edits, and i've reverted too many accidental rollbacks [13:13:18] Nemo_bis: you're currently in the minority, everyone i asked until now either liked it or didn't mind :) [13:23:00] * Nemo_bis shrugs [13:23:16] we'll see [14:20:37] what's going on? http://stats.grok.se/meta.m/latest30/Special:MyLanguage/No_open_proxies [15:05:50] I'll let the mob lynch you... after I organize it. [15:07:13] I don't like mobs [18:13:52] Hello, my private wiki (from Ubuntu repos) relies heavily on wikipedia's medical templates (e.g. Template:Soft_tissue_disorders) which I occasionally refresh from Wikipedia via Special:Export/Special:Import. For the better part of two years I have been getting weirdness. When lua got rolled out the templates *looked* better, but I started getting an error [18:13:52] about expensive parser function limit exceeded. Now I just updated a template and noted it included updates to deeper templates, including navbar and navbox. Now my error message reads "Error: Module:Navbar:28: attempt to index field 'title' (a nil value)" [18:18:21] grep2grok: #mediawiki [18:20:54] jeremyb: thanks. Every time I dive into the IRC channels it seems like I pick the wrong one. [18:20:58] :P [18:21:05] who's here? [18:21:13] robla: ? (just ask cause you /nick'd) [18:22:01] someone's gone advertising a wmf google group that doesn't really exist [18:22:16] so i (and probably not just i) got a bounce when trying to mail it [18:23:16] and i bet OIT ain't around to fix it on a weekend [18:23:55] jeremyb: doubt I can help, but what group are you referring to? [18:24:01] (oh, actually not so sure it doesn't exist. maybe it's just a permissions thing where it's set to reject mail from non-members) [18:24:04] wrh [18:24:39] i guess i'll just pick some people (individuals) out of a hat to mail [18:26:11] robla: do you want cc? [18:26:50] you haven't told me enough to know if I need to be involved :-) [18:27:50] you don't need to be. :) [18:28:24] i'm mailing the "coordinators" + OIT [18:31:34] ok, sent [18:32:16] * jeremyb wonders if there's any philippine developments [18:37:58] dartar responded :) [23:34:09] hello [23:34:15] how can i find the source of this template to write a smiliar one in ar. wiki [23:34:23] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Tree_list [23:35:04] hit edit? :) [23:35:21] ar didn't have any import sources until recently [23:35:22] let's see [23:35:58] i did [23:36:07] and copy+paste in my sand box [23:36:12] but everything looks red [23:36:14] :( [23:37:51] templates can be nested. templates can include other templates [23:38:02] how to got the reverted sign from this: └ [23:38:04] but this one just uses {{documentation}} so should be simple [23:38:13] erm? [23:39:01] where is the source? [23:40:19] what do you mean? [23:40:30] did you actually read the page you linked to? [23:40:50] ========== [23:40:51] {{Tree list}} [23:40:51] * A first level branch [23:40:51] ** A second level branch [23:40:51] *** A third level branch [23:40:54] {{Tree list/end}} [23:41:05] yes [23:41:11] i mean what should i do [23:41:13] {{tree list}} doesn't work alone. you need to copy other stuff [23:41:13] i have no idea [23:41:22] e.g. {{tree list/end}} [23:41:32] how to move it to arabic wiki [23:41:35] :( [23:41:43] i am not expert [23:42:17] https://git.wikimedia.org/commit/operations%2Fmediawiki-config.git/f5ccb7e2517d2f098523f664f322ebb6e0d46669 [23:42:35] at the moment you can only import from meta [23:43:45] so i can copy+paste and use it? [23:45:59] ? [23:48:05] sorry for bothering jeremyb [23:48:18] what should i do now [23:56:04] https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=MediaWiki:Common.css&diff=prev&oldid=498832541 [23:56:10] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MediaWiki_talk:Common.css/Archive_14#Treeview [23:58:46] sorry, i can't dig more right now. you should find some ar sysop that already knows what those links mean to do this import
