If I set up a cron job to happen every month, first day of the week on midday but it happens that my PC is not running during that exact moment, is there any easy I way I can make so the job starts at the first moment the computer is on and not really wait a whole month for the next fixed [17:19:31] run? [17:31:20] is this a general technical support question, or a question relating to a Wikimedia Cloud Services project? [17:35:25] Hmm, not sure. I mean, for me it is about running a pywikibot in a Wikimedia project (SqWiki). I've seen in a lot of MediaWiki pages related to Toolforge and Pywikibot written that I can come here for questions like this so I tried it. :P [17:35:38] AntiComposite [17:37:23] We can't help you with general cron questions here, you should consult the documentation for your system's cron implementation [17:38:01] We can, however, help you run pywikibot on Toolforge: https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/wiki/Help:Toolforge [17:39:52] Well, yes. I've read all there is to run on those pages and that's how I was able to make it run. I've followed instructions on pages like these: https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/wiki/Help:SSH about operating git bash and cron jobs. [17:40:18] https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/wiki/Help:Toolforge/Grid [17:41:47] The page above tells you how to schedule a cron job but it stops there. I've done that. I just wanted to know if there is any way that the cron job might start as soon as possible whenever a set date is missed without waiting the whole period for it again.
