[15:16:21] <subbu>	 if anyone knows ... on horizon, when i enable a puppet class and it asks for parameters... how do i provide "typed" values .. for example, if i type true, puppet complains it expects a boolean and got a string ... same for a port number .. expected an integer and got a string, etc.
[15:16:28] <bd808>	 Zppix: no, the interface at tooladmin does read data from any external toolinfo.json files. Doing that was a bigger task than I had time to implement when I built it.
[15:18:17] <bd808>	 subbu: ugh. that's a problem with the system we have right now for parameters. I think typing works better if you add the parameters as yaml content rather than using the form that pops up when you activate the module.

[15:22:01] <bd808>	 hiera comes from all over the place... git, wikitech Hiera: namespace, and Horizon (direct to instance, instance prefix, and project wide). Its really a mess at this point. We have a task about getting rid of some of this "flexibility", but are not working on that right now.

[15:28:52] <bd808>	 subbu: I'm going to give the "it depends" answer. I think deployment-prep has hiera settings in literally all the different places it can be stashed. Maybe talk with Krenair or thcipriani and see if y'all can come up with a "best practice"?
