I had a script on toolforge that did this using shell_exec, escaping the command arguments of course, and it used to work (several years ago?) but it doesn't work currently. [22:37:05] what happens instead of it working huh_? [22:37:24] well it returns an error - sh: 1: /usr/bin/node: not found [22:37:51] however, using exec() with git appears to work fine, and they are both in /usr/bin, so idk if it is a PATH issue [22:38:02] okay well that's not a problem with shell_exec [22:38:13] sounds like you do not have node installed on the host you are running in? [22:38:59] well it works when I'm logged into my public_html directory, but doesn't work when I open the page in my browser. [22:39:12] if I type the command on the command line it works [22:39:29] sounds like node is installed on the bastion but not whichever host is serving web requests [22:39:40] okay, so should I try to install it locally? [22:39:42] any idea which host that would be? [22:39:44] no [22:40:10] is there an easy way to tell what the host is? [22:40:31] I haven't used labs in like 5 years, just coming back and trying to fix some of the mess I left behind lol [22:40:51] I think it was qstat [22:43:02] am not a tools expert [22:43:27] qstat is empty for me [22:43:44] do you know if you're running on the stretch grid or k8s? [22:44:30] definitely gridengine [22:45:06] wait, nvm [22:45:14] I had gridengine but stopped it and did k8s [22:46:41] looks like webservice has k8s types for php and node but [22:46:46] don't know if you can do both [22:47:04] 'As of Feb 2018, we don't support mixed runtime containers' - oh, this sounds like what we wanted to know [22:47:21] or rather, didn't want, but you get the idea :) [22:47:39] I changed it to gridengine and now it seems to work lol [22:47:41] sounds like you may have better luck with the grid in this case [22:47:42] yeah [22:47:57] wow I never realized it would matter [22:47:59] thanks [22:48:03] Nvm can get you node in a php container [22:48:25] But batteries no included [22:48:43] *not
