[labs/tools/crosswatch] - 10https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/464402 (owner: 10L10n-bot) [13:16:24] The grid seems to be confused. It claims several of AnomieBOT's jobs are "running" in multiple places. For example, it has AnomieBOT-4 as 5805386 on exec-1414 (true), 5334402 on exec-1409 (false?), and 3839953 on exec-1405 (false?). [13:17:52] anomie: lots of people are flying today so it might be a while before that gets attention. Can you confirm that those are grid engine jobs and not k8s jobs? [13:17:57] (I ask because I got a k8s page overnight) [13:18:31] andrewbogott: I start them with qsub, and inspect them with qstat. [13:18:48] ok [13:19:39] anomie: in the meantime, is your job actually doing what it's supposed to do? [13:20:58] andrewbogott: Mostly. AnomieBOT-7 has two of these "fake" jobs, but the live one died at some point. I haven't tried to qdel the fake ones or manually start a new live one yet. [13:21:07] ok [13:21:29] I have to rush around and get ready to catch my flight but I will try to look more if I get a break [13:21:57] * anomie tries the qdel [13:24:02] andrewbogott: FYI, a qdel on the fake AnomieBOT-7 jobs seems to have worked to get rid of the fake jobs, and then qsub seems to have created a functioning job. [13:24:34] Hm, ok [13:54:32] anomie: It could be related to gridmaster issues last week. The network maintenance did something to it, and I had to shut down and restart the master [13:55:13] Some exec hosts didn't join immediately ...and I may still need to manually add some. [14:03:57] I hope this isn't some kind of widespread issue. If I can squeeze some time into auditing the setup for defects like this, I will. [14:05:36] Notably, the hosts mentioned above are not the disabled ones. So the exec host/queue disconnection issue isn't the problem. This is something else. It could still be related to the network issue depending on when the jobs were started. [18:33:57] There's some magic I have on my personal computer that lets me SSH .eqiad.wmflabs domains directly but I don't remember what it is; does anyone remember where this is documented? [18:34:20] harej: ssh tunnel? [18:34:25] That thing, I think. [18:38:00] harej: if you're on a mac/linux machine, it's possibly something in your .ssh/config file [18:38:07] yes, https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/wiki/Help:Access#Accessing_instances_with_ProxyCommand_ssh_option_(recommended) [18:38:09] just found it :) [18:38:30] thank you! [20:04:36] stwalkerster, if you're on a windows machine too [20:04:46] I think openssh will still check ~/.ssh/config on windows [20:05:05] assuming you're using openssh on windows :P [20:05:22] I'm still a PuTTY user when I use Windows [20:06:59] yes [20:07:02] I used openssh on windows [20:12:57] or you can use bash on windows [20:14:41] bash isn't an SSH client [20:31:00] Krenair bash includes it though which is what i ment :) [20:31:55] git bash for windows includes it IIRC [21:23:35] valhallasw`cloud hi, im wondering if https://github.com/valhallasw/gerrit-patch-uploader could be turned it a avatar uploader too (by that i mean the library forked and changed slightly)? [21:32:04] https://tools.wmflabs.org/gerrit-patch-uploader/ [21:32:11] You can upload to All-Avatars now [21:33:24] Accepts patch files only [21:33:39] You can add images via a patch file [21:33:41] also we want to run a image optimiser before uploading images. [21:34:31] Reedy good point, i've never done that though. But not everyone knows how to generate a patch format file :) [21:35:57] diff file1 file2 > patch [21:36:06] oh [21:36:13] that sounds easy :) [21:36:33] diff and patch are supposed to be complimentary [21:36:41] what you create with diff.. can be read by patch [21:37:11] oh [21:37:39] https://linuxacademy.com/blog/linux/introduction-using-diff-and-patch/ [21:37:59] that's how it was before there was git [21:38:08] people mailed patch files to lists .. can you imagine it now? hehe [21:38:36] lol [21:39:23] that being said.. this all applies to readable text files
