[11:44:08] Hi. I am trying to use the Wikidata Query Service to get items that have an article on enwp, but I am unsure how to use schema:isPartOf to get that to work. To do that I have some where clauses with ?wikidata, then do the following [11:44:38] ?enwp schema:about ?wikidata . ?enwp schema:inLanguage "en" . ?enwp schema:isPartOf ?x . [11:45:38] ?x does contain some entries with https://en.wikipedia.org, but when I try to match it against a string containing that, I get no results. I also don't get any results if I try to use "enwp" or wd:Q328 instead [11:45:44] Does anyone know how to properly use it? [11:49:49] This is the complete query by the way: http://tinyurl.com/yca33vas [11:53:27] Sumurai8: taking a look [11:53:37] Sumurai8: http://tinyurl.com/y79gkzxr should work [11:55:30] Yes, that works. Thank you :D [11:56:38] Np! [13:42:59] Hey, https://ne.wiktionary.org/wiki/%E0%A4%AE%E0%A5%81%E0%A4%96%E0%A5%8D%E0%A4%AF_%E0%A4%AA%E0%A5%83%E0%A4%B7%E0%A5%8D%E0%A4%A0 This is newikt main page and it is connected to https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q5296 this time but somehow only one link appears at "other languages" in the sidebar.... [13:49:29] So, can something be done so that more links appear there? [13:54:45] BRPever_ Can you perform a null edit? [14:00:12] Bencemac: I cannot but I am talking to a sysop who just did... [14:00:40] from the side of Wikidata, everything is ok [14:00:54] I can see ne.wt from hu.wt [14:03:29] Yeah, en.wt shows ne.wt as well... somehow ne.wt is not showing the links... [14:03:54] is it still in incubator? [14:07:00] nope... ne.wiktionary.org [14:08:46] https://usercontent.irccloud-cdn.com/file/MXMSdPCe/languages.PNG [14:10:03] Other languages [14:10:42] I do not know [14:10:52] maybe creating a phab ticket? [14:11:19] Ah okay... [14:12:19] Thanks :) [14:13:27] If you create one, please link it [14:13:43] I would like to know the solution (I will subscribe) [15:09:42] BRPever_, Bencemac: as I understand it, wikidata links don't work for wiktionary's main namespace because interwiki links are normally automatically provided by the cognate extension (based on identical page names), and since the main page doesn't work like that, they have to be manually added there [16:15:51] hola alguien habla la lengua de cervantes ? [16:17:29] https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q60663808 [16:18:56] In English please. [16:19:34] ese es precisamente el problema [17:24:43] Any sysop around? [17:51:11] Esteban16: Tell me [17:51:43] abian: An IP was vandalizing, but it has stopped [17:56:36] Okay :) [17:57:07] For the record: quimper200 wanted to request a new property but he created [[Q60663808]] instead [17:57:08] 10[1] 10https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q60663808 [17:59:03] In case he joins the channel again [18:36:23] mhm [20:07:05] * CatQuest was pretty sure wikidata is not english only so :) [20:51:39] Change on 12www.mediawiki.org a page Extension:Wikibase Client was modified, changed by Meno25 link https://www.mediawiki.org/w/index.php?diff=3060184 edit summary: [+2] update link [22:09:40] Change on 12www.mediawiki.org a page Extension:Wikibase Client was modified, changed by Shirayuki link https://www.mediawiki.org/w/index.php?diff=3060329 edit summary: [+1] dummy edit to update translation pages [23:16:08] WDQS is giving me timeouts. I'm not running complex queries. [23:17:15] Ignore me, seems a bit happier now. [23:21:21] I've found that removing the language service (and thus labels as well) goes far in increasing the size of queries I can run. [23:22:01] and then later joining labels with the QID results [23:22:24] @edward [23:25:26] PROBLEM - WDQS HTTP Port on wdqs1004 is CRITICAL: HTTP CRITICAL: HTTP/1.1 503 Service Temporarily Unavailable - 387 bytes in 0.002 second response time [23:26:55] edward sometimes its not the complexity, but the amount of data that is problematic :D [23:30:25] If you're frequently running into timeout issues you can also download the latest dumps and setup a local instance of the SPARQL engine [23:30:27] https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Wikidata:Database_download [23:30:32] https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Wikidata_Query_Service/User_Manual#Standalone_service [23:37:27] quite a bit over the top :p [23:41:40] lol maaaaybe [23:43:43] I felt bad slamming WDQS with complicated queries with potentially millions of results :P [23:45:51] it's also possible there's a way to optimize repeated subclass queries that I don't know about (was doing things like "?politician wdt:P106/wdt:P279* wd:Q82955." with extra criterion) [23:54:23] Does anyone know offhand the best way to link to to wiki-site specific documentation from Wikidata items? [23:56:45] Specifically I would like https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q59542487 to point to documentation for the wiki-sites that use these classifications.
