[04:14:22] I'd like to use the changes API (https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/API:RecentChanges) to update the JSON dump that I downloaded (https://dumps.wikimedia.org/wikidatawiki/entities/20181022/). how can I determine the date-time that the dump was taken, so that I know how far back to pull changes from? [09:12:26] Wikidata has a new logo?! A present with a 6. IsWD six years alive? [09:13:30] There should be some info about this on clicking the logo/mainpage... [09:57:06] Arch2all: ooooh [09:57:11] thats not a bad idea really... [11:06:16] I had some random questions about wikidata's DNS/TLS usage as we're coming up on cert renewals, specifically the m-dot subdomains: [11:06:47] currently at the DNS level we define these functional hostnames underneath wikidata.org: [11:06:58] query, test, www, m, test.m [11:07:11] they all seem functional and useful to some degree [11:07:18] the questions are: [11:08:08] 1) Could we easily/quickly rename "test.m" to something like "test-m"? or is it embedded/used too widely in current form? [11:08:47] 2) Is there any intent to ever put language subdomains under wikidata.org or m.wikidata.org? Currently there doesn't seem to be any use or plan to use e.g. "fr.wikidata.org" or "de.m.wikidata.org"? [11:09:35] assuming there's no need for $lang subdomains as in (2), and we could do the rename in (1), it removes the need to define a whole separate SAN entry on the giant unified cert we use for "*.m.wikidata.org" [11:10:20] not a big deal and not worth a ton of effort, but if it happens to be easy, we can make that change this time around and shave a few bytes from everyone's TLS connection startup (there's a few other such cases I'm looking at too) [12:44:39] hi bblack ! *reads up* [12:45:37] Lydia_WMDE: ^^ i guess those are questions for you [12:45:48] we used to have language subdomains but got rid of them years ago [12:46:05] addshore: looking [12:46:05] addshore: can you check https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T208293 in the meantime? [12:46:19] Lydia_WMDE: can do [12:46:57] bblack: test.m is test site for mobile? I don't think it is used [12:48:09] bblack: for 2) as addshore said we indeed wanted en.wikidata.org to automagically set the user interface of the user to english but when we tried it it lead to all kind of other fallout and we delayed it for unknown time. so in principle we still want it but no idea when we get to it. [12:48:12] Lydia_WMDE: so that ticket isn't talking about cognate? but inter project links? or? [12:49:10] addshore: not entirely sure but i was guessing cognate [12:49:12] hmmmm [12:49:34] if it were cognate it would probably be broken everywher,e but also cognate has no interaction with wikidata [12:49:53] addshore: ah no [12:49:54] it is for the regular interwikis managed in sitelinks [12:50:04] in this case a category [12:50:14] I seeee [12:50:16] hmmm [12:50:53] so that is indeed wikibase client stuff then i guess [12:51:02] ok thanks, I'll just leave it alone for now, in case you get to it in the next year :) [12:51:08] addshore: seems so yeah [12:51:14] bblack: :D ok [12:54:17] Lydia_WMDE: i see some suspect log messages starting form yesterday at some point [12:54:24] [{exception_id}] {exception_url} ErrorException from line 309 of /srv/mediawiki/php-1.33.0-wmf.1/includes/debug/MWDebug.php: PHP Warning: According to a SiteLinkLookup Q30884391 is linked to frwiktionary while it is not or it does not exist. [13:52:28] Lydia_WMDE: I found the fix [13:52:30] :) [13:52:39] or, what i think is the fix [14:52:25] addshore: \o/ [14:52:43] yup, all fixed, and i filed a followup for that half caused the issue [14:52:54] https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T208317 not all of our clients and in the list of clients.....
