[10:17:56] hello! I posted 10 days ago on the Administrators' noticeboard about an insult and false vandalism claim, but got no answer so far, could an admin have a look? https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Wikidata:Administrators%27_noticeboard/Archive/2018/01#User:Varlaam_insult_and_false_vandalism_claim [18:58:48] hi [18:59:09] when I want so set a book as a source for a claim, do I need to add that book as an entity? [19:01:26] faqr: ideally yes, see [[Help:Sources#Books]] [19:01:40] https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Help:Sources#Books [19:01:47] (I thought we had a bot that automatically resolves these links?) [19:12:53] so the page property needs to be next to the `stated in` property? [19:13:23] https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q14947358#P1082 [19:13:41] (the first four values) [19:15:09] (first value) [19:15:36] how many triples are there in wikidata? I cant find it in the statistics [19:16:39] faqr: that looks good to me [19:17:46] Guest54367: you can see the number of triples in the query service on https://grafana.wikimedia.org/dashboard/db/wikidata-query-service?panelId=7&fullscreen [19:18:01] but that’s not the same as the number of triples in the RDF dumps, due to https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Wikibase/Indexing/RDF_Dump_Format#WDQS_data_differences [19:18:11] but it should be pretty close [19:20:23] thanks [19:21:27] you’re welcome :) [20:55:58] WikidataFacts: there seems to be a significant discrepancy from the triples reported in the url that you linked earlier, and the actual triples in the dump (here https://dumps.wikimedia.org/wikidatawiki/entities/latest-all.ttl.bz2). The website says 4.4 billion, but I'm trying to parse the file and it reports almost 5 billion and counting [21:01:18] Guest653789: that could be due to all the dropped `a wikibase:Statement` and `a wikibase:Reference` triples [21:01:27] or the dropped `schema:name` or `skos:prefLabel` [21:01:32] not sure which would account for more duplication
