[10:43:57] Hello [10:44:12] What would be the Wikidata equivalent of DBpedia Lookup? https://github.com/dbpedia/lookup [11:07:26] Ash_Crow: prefix search sounds like our wbsearchentities API [11:07:32] not sure if we have a keyword search [11:16:57] I guess the keyword search equivalent would be the normal mediawiki search api [13:53:15] hi guys. https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Saint_Carantoc links to https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q2758802 , but on the wikidata page I can't find a link to the commons page. why is this? [13:53:20] shouldn't the common links be visible? [14:02:38] fixed it. the commons page wasn't linked with wikidata for some reason, it only had old style language links. I linked it, now the commons page shows up on wikidata. [17:12:39] This one was weird. https://www.wikidata.org/w/index.php?title=Property%3AP2009&type=revision&diff=591722626&oldid=591722404 [17:16:08] sjoerddebruin: O_o [17:16:17] yes, really weird [17:16:50] https://www.wikidata.org/w/index.php?title=Property_talk:P2009&diff=next&oldid=236930730 [17:17:09] … [17:17:15] why am I not surprised [17:17:30] It'd be nice to have a sort of equivalent of "git blame" for Wikidata items [17:17:42] * Harmonia_Amanda returns to dealing with her script [17:17:54] (knowing who touched a particular claim or reference last, say) [17:18:03] sjoerddebruin: in an ideal world, someone would let him a message [17:18:18] but I think all of us are too tired to deal with him [17:18:34] pintoch: there is a gadget that does that, not sure if it works anymore [17:18:40] Ehm script [17:19:05] oh nice [17:20:55] https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/User:Ricordisamoa/WikidataTrust.js [17:21:20] * Harmonia_Amanda grmbll against languages using several writing systems (much more complicated for my script, why isn't reality simple, uh?!) [17:26:31] sjoerddebruin: ❤_❤ [17:26:53] this is really nice [17:26:55] Does it still work? [17:26:58] yep [17:27:03] I didn't like the design I remember. [17:27:12] I find it pretty neat actually! [17:27:45] * Harmonia_Amanda thinks she will just ignore some languages, because there are too many possibilities for the script to handle [17:35:01] Oh wow, an untagged family name... [17:35:04] https://www.wikidata.org/w/index.php?title=Q3120848&action=history [17:40:31] sjoerddebruin: actually there are probably hundred of them [17:40:56] I find some regularly chen checking with Petscan before creating new ones [17:41:54] I merged more than two hundred names this week [17:41:59] Yikes! [17:42:53] because since 2013 there have been Yellowcard Jura and GZWD who created duplicates because they were only checking if it existed in Englis (or German, for Yellowcard) [17:43:18] but we have many names in sl, sk, lt and nl without labels in en/de [17:43:25] so, many duplicates [17:43:46] I think I merged most of them but there are still a few I missed [17:44:00] Ah, I reverted Yellowcard a lot due to labels with disambiguation still included [17:44:32] if that was the only problem with Yellowcard creations's we would have been lucky [18:33:58] When a commons page has old-style language links, and I want to associate it with a wikidata page, what's the normal way to do that? Normally I click on the edit link in the translations in the sidebar of the commons page, but that doesn't work when there are old style links. [18:34:11] A commons category usually. [19:44:52] Oops, added the link to a category item. Let's remove the valid sitelink and merge. https://www.wikidata.org/w/index.php?title=Q9110012&action=history
