[15:43:01] i sent you mail [15:43:21] so there really is a bug in the version-management for the pictures [15:43:41] and i even encountered this problem before, but i didn't notice that it really was a bug [15:44:56] Oh, is this about having "uploadable" in SF work better? [15:48:52] [SemanticMediaWiki] mwjames opened pull request #277: More PSR-4 compliance (master...tests-psr-4) http://git.io/dL5Bwg [16:06:08] Yaron: yes [16:06:20] but this seems to be a problem in mediawiki too [16:06:33] What's the bug? [16:08:32] i asked my programmer to file the bug. he doesn'T know exactly but there seems to be a problem if you upload different pictures [16:08:32] with the same name, or the same pictures with different names. [16:08:52] you migt be stuck in one of the dialogues [16:11:01] Well, you can't upload two pictures with the same name - that's not a bug, it's just how MediaWiki works. [16:11:26] no... the problem is the following dialogue [16:12:08] you will be asked if you want to upload a new version of the picture or not. in some cases you can't complete the dialoge [16:12:41] ans SF suffers too if you have problems from exiting some dialogues [16:12:46] ans=and [16:15:16] Sure... that was the issue you and the other guy were trying to solve, no? [16:15:31] It's not a problem in MediaWiki, just a problem in SF. [16:19:02] you think so? i had the feeling that i had this problem without SF also [16:33:53] I don't believe so. Special:Upload gives warning messages, but it never crashes or does something weird. [16:35:54] [SemanticMediaWiki] mwjames force-pushed tests-psr-4 from e7bb98b to e6a3e27: http://git.io/eVF5zw [16:35:54] SemanticMediaWiki/tests-psr-4 e6a3e27 mwjames: More PSR-4 compliance [16:38:04] hm [16:38:16] but what can we do now? [16:38:27] i fear i can't have that fixed [16:39:01] Flexman: you had that programmer working on it - what did he do? [16:39:23] well he did some tests and told me what i sent your per mail [16:39:37] Alright. [16:40:12] that he needs to do a bugfix for the image version part and since it is not clear how severe this bug is it might exceed the budget to fix this [16:40:51] I'd say it's pretty clear... I mean, that was the thing you hired him to take care of in the first place, no? [16:44:04] yes and he estimate the costs. however since the major problem might be in some other code it seems to be much more work than originally estimated [16:45:00] I don't think that's the case. [16:45:45] There are various circumstances in which Special:Upload gives a warning message and doesn't just do the upload right away - whenever that happens, SF's upload at the moment just fails. [16:46:15] It could be that he came up with some solution that works for some subset of those cases, but I'd say that's not a real solution anyway. [16:46:42] I thought before he started working on it that a true solution would require the use of cookies, and I guess I still think so. [16:47:24] hm [17:36:43] Saruman: I succeed :D [17:36:48] Saruman: _MDAT and co [17:36:50] It works :DDD [17:36:55] good [17:36:58] And now I've got graph and so [17:37:05] My client are very happy [17:37:06] :p [17:37:10] publicly visible? [17:37:15] nop [17:37:16] :) [17:37:21] ah :-( [17:37:40] As I said I'm using SMW as a Incident Handler mgmt tool [17:38:03] So it's basically a lot of very confidential infos [17:38:10] ok sure [17:38:18] But It's awesome [17:38:31] It's really THE tool to do the job [17:38:31] maybe you can build a sandbox with test data instead of the confidential stuff? [17:39:03] Saruman: It is a test instance [17:39:06] acceptance* [17:39:18] But the result is awesome [17:40:07] I need to really work on good properties/Category/form and co. And I'll ask to release that for other to use [17:41:14] :) [17:41:28] But definitely SMW is the tool for such a work [18:27:29] when using a template, to display the result of an #ask, is there a way to "access" the default form of a page? Right now I am using | {{#formlink:form=SomeForm/{{{1}}}|link text=[[File:edit.png|link=|17px]]|popup}}, but it would be much more flexible to let #formlink just pick the pages default form [18:44:37] sven^: no, unfortunately, but I think you could use "fullurl" for the same effect: https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Help:Magic_words#URL_data [18:45:46] Yaron: I guess it's easier to #ask for ?has default Form and do something like {{#formlink:form={{{16}}}/{{{1}}}/link text ....}} [18:46:07] dunno why I didn't think of that in the first place ;) [18:46:12] Not easier than using fullurl... [18:55:39] not sure what you mean [18:56:42] but it's ok, I got it now [18:56:43] thanks ;) [19:01:28] Cool. [22:19:55] (CR) Netbrain: "I see no reason why it can't be both."
