[mediawiki/extensions/SemanticMediaWiki] (1.9.x); V: 1 C: 0; - https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/32347 [15:05:31] heya... when doing an #ask, where can I define how a specific column is displayed? e.g. I have a field with 3 values, a, b, c. In the normal template I use an arraymap to create links to pages user:a, user:b, user:c. When doing the ask this column is just shown as a b c (in 3 different lines), which kind of makes the table ugly since that result row is a lot higher than all the others (usually there is only 1 value in that field) [15:14:01] and another thing: I wanna make some sort of "page picker" using a date picker. E.g. when I pick the date 2012-11-08 the page "Collected data from 2012-11-08" should be displayed. Is that even possible? [15:14:43] sven^: for the first one, you'd have to use a query template, e.g. with the "template" format. [15:15:04] See here: http://smw.referata.com/wiki/Use_the_ask_template_format_to_create_tabular_output [15:16:18] ok, that's too much hassle for such a cosmetical improvement [15:16:29] For the second one - I don't know of any way to do that, but you might be able to get close with the Semantic Forms "RunQuery" feature. [15:16:47] I use templates for #ask already, but I thought there'd be some easy way like saying ?fieldname#array in the #ask [15:17:16] yeah, I got RunQuery pages already to display contacts and offer vcard downloads [15:17:37] but it only creates a result list without directly redirecting to a page [15:18:08] another thing that would help me in this case would be some auto-generatet list of pages. [15:18:37] I just need links too all pages "Collected data from $date" where $date is every thursday in a given timeperiod [15:19:25] (my goal is to find out which data is missing in the last few years and manually looking at the result of all _existing_ pages is quite stressful [15:24:32] Yaron: is there a way to #ask for specific dates? Maybe I could just negate that #ask statement then... [15:25:06] Well, sure you can query on a specific data... but you really want to aggregate by dates, no? [15:25:21] specific date, that is. [15:26:31] To show all results by date, you could use Semantic Drilldown, or one of the formats filtered, calendar, eventcalendar... [15:26:55] Also timeseries, I think. [15:27:09] Though all of those formats require SMW 1.8, except for calendar. [15:27:54] I only got 1.7... [15:28:03] calendar: I already have on my mainpage [15:28:46] but wait.. that's not what you meant.. [15:29:15] you meant format=calendar, right? [15:29:50] I am using that, too... Datum::>Datum::<. How can I adjust that to display "thursdays" only? [15:46:04] Yaron, one last and again different thing. When using RunQuery, is there a way to make empy fields wildcards? Right now I am trying to solve it with cascading ifs but that's ugly and unmaintainable [15:46:53] sven^: what do you mean by wildcards? [15:50:31] I am querying pages (as contacts), so if the user only enters a pre-name I want to } [15:50:56] uh, "vorname" = "first name" [15:51:00] I hope you know what I mean [15:52:03] right now if the user only enters one name the #sk doesn't find anything since for example Firstname::{} is not met on any pages, even if the surname matches [15:52:37] That's surprising - that should work. [15:52:56] a solution would be to use a lot of {{#if: statements to select a #ask statement for the provided values [15:52:58] sec. I'll paste [15:56:33] the template and runquery-page: http://pastebin.com/7UE4p8sE [15:57:14] so if I only enter a "vorname" like Sven, there are no results (there are 3 Svens in the wiki, that are correctly displayed if I query them with a surname) [16:08:57] sven^: what version of SMW are you using? [16:09:13] It looks like the handling of empty values may have changed in SMW 1.8... [16:50:51] sven^: it should work... [16:50:52] Are these properties of type "String"? [19:00:14] New patchset: Nischayn22; "Add relevant resources to special pages." [mediawiki/extensions/SemanticMediaWiki] (master) - https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/32403 [19:01:03] ive tried ontoprise richeditor however haven't succesfully been able to integrate, hopefully there is another solution that i just simply need to download the tar/zip add to extensions folder, and add to localsettings.php [19:01:18] kdanko: the forms already let you upload files; why do you need the text editor for uploading? [19:01:32] Oh, you mean within the free text. [19:02:02] I don't think there's a way to do that, unfortunately. [19:05:11] Yes within Freetext [19:05:34] We have a series of forms for creating pages, however right now we have to first upload the files and then add manually [19:05:54] It's such a hassle that we are considering moving from mediawiki to wordpress.
