[00:36:17] I'm using Semantic Mediawiki and Semantic Forms, but I need to do my own extension that has a self-contained form and post handler. I haven't found a good php form tutorial that's done with respect to working in Mediawiki, does anyone know of one? [03:23:27] morning all [03:23:44] is there something special about naming a property the same as a datatype? [03:24:14] I've got Property:Code with [[has type::string]] but it's still putting
around the value. [04:45:40] samwilson - that sounds like a bug. (A weird one.) [05:00:06] yaron: really? bother. I'll investigate further [05:12:31] samwilson: smw version? [05:13:33] nischayn22: 1.7.1 [05:13:44] on mediawiki 1.19.1 [05:14:03] samwilson: file a bug then [05:14:31] * nischayn22 is happy its not master [05:14:35] Yaron: Hey [05:14:56] Hello. [05:15:40] Yaron: did you checkout the new SMW Store? [05:15:47] No, not yet. [05:17:02] Yaron: it has 28+ db tables now, I doubt if other extensions are also creating tables ;) [05:17:29] there will be plenty of them (more than MW lol) [05:17:46] I... don't understand that "other extensions" bit. [05:18:01] That's impressive, though. [05:18:10] extensions in the SMW bundle [05:18:30] Okay. [05:19:55] Yaron: have a look at the errors http://www.referata.com/wiki/Special:CreateSite [05:20:21] I don't see any errors, but then again I didn't try to create a site. [05:20:48] I am not logged in, maybe that's why I see one [05:21:14] Yaron: snapshot http://i.imgur.com/9IRXO.png [05:21:34] Oh, I see - that's not good. [05:22:02] heh, is that from an extension or core? [05:22:25] btw, a referata site does't let you install extensions right? [05:24:58] nischayn22 - no. [05:25:12] hmm [05:28:33] nischayn22: it's not just me: http://sandbox.semantic-mediawiki.org/wiki/Property:Code [05:28:39] I'll lodge a bug report. [05:32:03] nischayn22 - thanks for letting me know about the CreateSite problem; I fixed it (and improved the text). [05:32:15] Yaron: yw :) [05:32:39] oh, it's the same weirdness with other properties named as datatypes! http://sandbox.semantic-mediawiki.org/wiki/Code_property_test [05:34:56] samwilson - for what it's worth, the type is actually called "Telephone number". [05:35:17] Not that that makes the behavior you saw any less weird... [05:37:44] Oh, I guess "Phone number" is a synonym. [05:38:04] I just tried it myself, and the same behavior happens for all the property types. [05:38:50] i've made a bug report: [05:39:07] https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=38465 [05:41:17] this happens because of Msg Aliases IMHO [07:16:47] Hi all, I'm trying my luck again here :) [07:16:47] Is there any way to do some arrays of properties? I'm trying to have some tasks listed under the same page (the project page) but without creating individual pages for each task. Just one page for the project containing several arrays with task names, task statuses, etc. [07:16:47] And - is there any mail list or forum where I could ask this? [07:16:47] Thanks! I've got a field in one of my semantic forms which contains a comma delimited list of names. [19:51:28] Does anyone have any thoughts on how I can use a template or possibly a parser function to process those values as an unordered list? [20:09:44] uncleben - what do you mean by an unordered list? [20:09:53] What does it matter whether it's ordered or not? [20:11:18] So I have a list in a string property. Something like: Bob, Tom, Jim, Harold, Susan, Lewis [20:11:54] I want to call that value using #show (or #ask, I guess) and have it put out as an unordered list [20:12:55] uncleben - okay, if I understand the question, you should use #arraymap in the template. [20:13:00] The whole string is returned as is, so I presume I would have to find a way to use a substitution call, or throw it into some template with some kind of parser function to get it to split the values based on the commas and format them as list items [20:13:16] See here: http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:Semantic_Forms/Semantic_Forms_and_templates#arraymap [20:15:14] Hrm.....maybe #arraymaptemplate..... [20:15:45] yeah, that looks like it should work. Thanks, Yaron. [20:28:41] * JeroenDeDauw points an empty bottle of ClubMate at Yaron and then points at nischayn22 [20:28:48] *throws [20:29:11] Who got hit? Is this some sort of logic riddle? [20:33:26] Yaron: first word of the sentence needed to be "throw" [20:55:03] Oh, now I get it. [20:55:07] Well, sort of. [21:15:27] Yaron: Ok, so in the template for a form that I created, I'm trying to use one of the fields from the record that I'm rendering with that template to pull data from another record that uses a different template. [21:15:51] Alright... I think I understand. [21:16:02] So in template MtgMinutes, I have a field using property name 'Meeting Name' [21:17:35] When I pull up the record for a meeting, I want it to use the value in the Meeting Name field as the argument for a #show statement to return a field from the page with the name stored in that field. [21:18:01] Right, okay. [21:18:09] So let's say i'm pulling up the record using the MtgMinutes template, and the record has 'Meeting Name' set to 'Staff Meeting' [21:18:25] I want to pull the 'Meeting Description' field from the 'Staff Meeting' page [21:19:19] So I'm using {{#show: [[{{{Meeting Name|}}}]] | ?Meeting Description}} to do this [21:19:41] and it's throwing an error when I pull up a record in the template [21:19:58] It says: The symbol "" was used in a place where it is not useful. The part "" of the query was not understood [21:22:22] Yaron: Any guesses? [21:22:56] uncleben - you shouldn't put square brackets around the page name in #show. [21:24:08] Maybe that's the issue. [21:24:37] Ok.....well, no more error, so that's good. No data is returned, either, though...... [21:24:49] Hrm. I know the field name is correct.... [21:26:01] I don't know. [21:29:08] I gave the fields that I'm searching underscores instead of spaces, and one returned now. Not sure about the other yet. [22:01:03] Is there a limit to the size that can be returned by #show on a property of type 'String'? [22:01:32] Or by #ask, for that matter..... [22:11:14] Some of my properties show as unused, but they are in the forms and templates.....any idea why? [22:11:23] The 'Meeting Description' property is one of them. [22:11:42] uncleben - I assume it's because they're not actually being set. [22:12:00] The "Browse properties" link in the sidebar is very helpful for seeing what has been set.
