[01:43:42] pong [10:19:25] Hello everyone! I've only ever changed/set this via a self hosted wiki... How do I change the setting to "only registered users can edit" [10:27:16] Go to Special:ManageWiki/permissions and remove the edit right from the * user group. After that, go back there and add the right to the User user group. [10:27:43] newuserwik: ^ [10:27:53] newuserwiki: * [10:34:16] Ahh ok [10:34:33] Didn't realize * was a group, but obviously it is! Thanks! [10:36:16] * = anyone 🙂 [10:56:29] Btw, is it possible to change the text on the Special:ManageWiki/permissions page? It doesn't have an edit button, but the text in the Swedish version is slightly confusing, so would like to change it. I have a vauge memory that I've only changed stuff like that via shell access though... [10:59:57] I think that would need to be changed upstream. Try asking in #mediawiki [11:03:13] ManageWiki is a miraheze made extension [11:03:33] so #mediawiki likely would just redirect you back here [11:03:40] Ah ok [11:03:56] Majavah: I had forgotten that, thanks for the correction [11:04:01] Not a huge issue anyway, can just write some article and explain it [11:04:26] but most translations of interface text can be edited on translatewiki.net [11:05:40] those would apply to all users, which sees the correct option if it's confusing/incorrect [11:05:59] those can also edited by local sysops by finding the message name and editing that on the mediawiki: namespace [11:09:42] It's just that where you select which group to edit, the button says "Spara" (meaning "Save"), and "Välj" (meaning "Select") would make more sense in my head. But if it would be a site-wide change, maybe Spara is more reasonable if that diff is only in my head. [12:31:26] hello [12:31:42] I want to use * as itself at the beginning of a line [12:31:50] how can I escape it? [12:32:25] * [12:32:28] Jakeukalane: ^ [12:33:33] oh, right [12:33:43] I forgot about that [12:33:45] thank you! [21:02:49] Hello huglenaut! If you have any questions, feel free to ask and someone should answer soon.
