[18:25:34] @Stewards or @CVT See [[SN]] for this report by InspecterAbdel of an anonymous user making death threats on-wiki, https://meta.miraheze.org/w/index.php?title=Stewards%27_noticeboard&diff=117047&oldid=117031. [18:25:35] [ Difference between revisions of "Stewards' noticeboard" - Miraheze Meta ] - meta.miraheze.org [18:42:48] $log blocked 92.38.148.60 on commonsensewikiwiki [18:42:53] Saved item "blocked 92.38.148.60 on commonsensewikiwiki" [18:46:34] @Doug as you can see above it has been dealt with [18:46:49] $log hid several instances of threats on commonsensewikiwiki [18:46:55] Saved item "hid several instances of threats on commonsensewikiwiki" [18:47:57] @Reception123 Can you also update main page of cvt wiki? I noticed it yesterday. Thanks 🙂 [18:48:10] > @Doug as you can see above it has been dealt with @Reception123 Thanks for the update. I hadn't looked to see if the problem was occurring cross-wiki. [18:48:25] > @Reception123 Can you also update main page of cvt wiki? I noticed it yesterday. Thanks 🙂 @MrJaroslavik What do you want changed? [18:48:28] @Doug well it's difficult to look for IPs, I've just taken locally action for the time being [18:49:01] changed (I assume you meant it said CVT members instead of Global Sysops) [18:49:24] Thanks! [18:49:28] @Doug without GUC we can't really see global IP activity easily so that's problematic [18:49:33] but either way this looks isolated to me [18:49:35] > @Doug well it's difficult to look for IPs, I've just taken locally action for the time being @Reception123 Ah, sounds good. do the IP addresses show in CentralAuth? Of course, one would probably need to know the exact IP address, and if it's changing, they'd have to look up each one. [18:49:48] > @Reception123 Ah, sounds good. do the IP addresses show in CentralAuth? Of course, one would probably need to know the exact IP address, and if it's changing, they'd have to look up each one. @Doug nope they do not (answered above before you asked 🙂 ) [18:50:16] > @Doug nope they do not (answered above before you asked 🙂 ) @Reception123 I answered my own question, too. It looks like. 😛 [18:58:07] @Reception123 Colby's changes to [[Custom domains]] look pretty good to me (https://meta.miraheze.org/w/index.php?title=Custom_domains&diff=117061&oldid=117012). Linking the diff for you to review. Pretty minor changes; mostly minor in favour of wording changes to apparently comply with an IETF RFC, I guess. [18:58:09] [ Difference between revisions of "Custom domains" - Miraheze Meta ] - meta.miraheze.org [18:58:44] ^ not cvt related :) [18:59:19] oops [18:59:26] sorry, was in the wrong channel [19:02:23] I'll take a closer look tomorrow at the changes [19:50:59] @CVT or @Stewards See this https://meta.miraheze.org/wiki/Stewards'_noticeboard#Please_Lock_this_troll on [[SN]]. Sadly, concur with the unanimous consensus for a global lock of a user who spammed the Farmer log with bad wiki requests. Has made no other edits on other wikis and, with a random username like that, the probability of this being either (a) a sockpuppet of an LTA or (b) a vandalism only account is high. [19:51:00] [ Stewards' noticeboard - Miraheze Meta ] - meta.miraheze.org [20:20:33] @Doug: Blocked for now [21:20:29] > @Doug: Blocked for now @RhinosF1 That should work, as long as they can't use [[Special:CreateWiki]] on other wikis (permissed denied), so that's good. Thanks. [21:33:39] > @RhinosF1 That should work, as long as they can't use [[Special:CreateWiki]] on other wikis (permissed denied), so that's good. Thanks. @Doug: CreateWiki is only user facing on meta. [21:47:33] > @Doug: CreateWiki is only user facing on meta. @RhinosF1 Yeah, that's what I meant? If you type in Special:CreateWiki on other wikis, it produces a permission denied error, so I'm assuming there's some sort of global configuration, either on the front end or in the back end, that prevents it from being used on Meta, eh? [21:48:08] 'CreateWiki' is a blacklisted right [21:48:25] And only usually enabled on 1 wiki [21:48:47] Sometimes 2 when we test new stuff (test2 being the second) [23:25:06] > 'CreateWiki' is a blacklisted right @RhinosF1, thank you for providing that technical clarification for me. That's helpful. 🙂
